Ad Astra Rocket Company approached Nautel in 2007 to develop a radio-frequency amplifier to be used in a plasma rocket propulsion system. Utilizing high efficiency solid state RF generators made by Nautel, Ad Astra’s VASIMR VX-200 rocket project achieved a highly-coveted new power milestone of 200 kW maximum power in September, 2009. Originally studied by NASA, this technology is expected to revolutionize space travel, greatly reducing the operational costs of space exploration and shortening transit times for missions to Mars. Nautel continues to play a key role in its development.

(NSBI) is Nova Scotia's business development agency dedicated to helping companies in the province grow their business through trade and export, business financing, venture capital and advisory services. The agency is also responsible for investment attraction and has sector specialists with expertise in a number of industries including defence, security, and aerospace.NSCC supports high school ROV teams through CollegePrep, an initiative which actively links high school and College programs to help students find post-secondary paths that leads to successful careers. The Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) Competition encourages high school students to engage in learning about new industries that use underwater ROVs for research, exploration, repair and servicing, and other advanced technology areas.
